How FLAIR® Strips Work
When horses breathe during exercise, the soft tissues overlying the nasal passages collapse reducing the size of the airway. This reduction in size of the airway causes increased resistance to moving air into the lungs.
FLAIR Strips support the nasal passages so there is less collapse and less resistance to bringing air into the lungs.

Each strip is designed as a one-time use product. Leave the Strip in place until the horse is completely cooled out and breathing has returned to normal.

Yes. When applied correctly on clean, dry skin, FLAIR Strips stay on through sweat, rain, dust, and high-intensity work including barrel runs, cross-country, polo chukkers, and racing.

Peel, center, and apply 30 minutes prior to exercise approximately 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) above the horse’s nostrils. The three plastic supports in the Strip produce a precise level of spring-like force to reduce collapse of the horse's nasal passages and improve airflow.

Any horse working hard or breathing heavily can benefit — including barrel horses, eventers, jumpers, polo ponies, racehorses, endurance horses, and seasoned trail horses. Equine athletes in all disciplines and every level of competition can benefit as part of their training, conditioning and performance regimens.

No. The adhesive is designed for equine skin. Slight loss of hair may be noticed, as experienced with normal shedding.

Yes. Many riders use them to help horse’s feel more comfortable when long-hauling, suffering from allergies or other lower airway diseases such as COPD (“heaves”), or laryngeal hemiplegia (“roarers”). Always consult your veterinarian for medical conditions.
