Began Riding: Grew up with horses and enjoyed success in Pony Club Mounted Games. He took a break from riding at age 16 but continued working with horses and began training as a farrier. During this time, Alex met his wife, Simmone, who gave him insight into Eventing and he began riding again when the couple was expecting their first daughter.

Recent Accomplishments: Achieved 4th place at the the World 7yr Old Breeding Championships and 4th place in the only 5* of 2020 in Pau, France; ranked 7th in the world, being part of the Podium GBR elite squad; placed 3rd at Luhmuhlen 5* in 2019; placed 4th at Pau 5* in 2019; earned 15 top 10 finishes at 4* and 5* events in 2019; placed 12th in British Eventing rankings; earned two Nations Cup team selections in 2018; placed 5th at Pau CCI4* two years consecutively; won the Event Rider Masters Jardy Leg 2018; and placed 3rd at Blenheim CCI***.
Fun Facts: He won't get a horse up from lying down in its stable to work; if the horse needs its rest, it needs its rest. Always used to eat Jelly Babies for energy during a busy competition day, but his nutritionist advised him against doing that, so he's now attending Jelly Baby addiction anonymous classes to try and quit. :)
